MetraTech Corp. releases MetraNet v5.0 Waltham, Massachusetts June 8, 2006 — MetraTech Corp., the leader in Web Service oriented solutions for billing, customer self-care, and partner management, has announced the release of version 5.0 of MetraNet, the company’s flagship business support solution. MetraNet 5.0 represents a revolution in business modeling. It supports complex customer and service relationships that the system user can tailor intuitively to match how business or governmental organizations organize themselves. This is achieved by expanding meta-data to powerfully encompass meta-relationships. Version 5.0 also increases MetraNet’s support of linear scalability – allowing customers, orders and events to grow predictably and seamlessly through the cost-effective addition of hardware. In so doing, MetraNet 5.0 delivers on the promise of blade technology. The new release also enhances MetraNet’s already market-leading application and systems operability and cost profile. Enhanced Billing Groups can now be tailored to the needs and resourcing of the Billing Operations Team – lowering operations costs, time-to-revenue, age of debt, and raising overall billing quality. Doug Zone, chief technology officer, MetraTech Corp observes: “the great leap forward with version 5.0 is the flexibility of MetraNet’s data model. Because billing systems are generally fixed, where many of the systems with which they need to link (such as CRM) are based on flexible data models, the potential impact of the billing system is limited. With this release, the power of relational databases is genuinely unleashed.” Scott Swartz, chief executive officer, MetraTech adds: “With MetraNet, we continue to push towards the frontiers of billing functionality. The dynamic billing groups, combined with the solution’s business process adapters, for instance, result in a business-driven engine that improves both operations and auditing procedures while simultaneously empowering the user to run billing in very individual ways.” Two MetraNet users have already committed to deploying Version 5.0. TELUS, the largest telecommunications company in Western Canada and the second largest in the country and ACT, a publicly traded conferencing company with worldwide operations will both be upgrading to the enhanced solution. about MetraTech MetraTech is a registered trademark, and the MetraTech logo is a trademark of MetraTech Corp.
