BT Conferencing Accelerates North American Expansion
MetraNet to support rapid customer growth and introduction of new service offerings Waltham, MA May 7, 2002 MetraTech, a leading Web services-based billing, revenue sharing and customer care software provider, today announced that BT Conferencing Inc., a division of BT Group plc, one of the world's leading telecommunications companies, has deployed MetraNet to meet the rapidly escalating demand for its North American conferencing services. In addition, MetraNet is helping BT Conferencing expand its channel sales by enabling the company to bill partners for the services they resell to their customers. BT Conferencing also uses MetraNet to handle billing relationships between their resellers and the end customers. This has allowed BT Conferencing to offer a higher standard of services for their reseller partners. BT Conferencing chose MetraTech because it offers the only billing platform designed to meet the complex needs of conferencing and collaboration companies. MetraNet is a highly scalable Web services-based billing, customer self-care and interactive reporting solution, which seamlessly integrates with existing systems. It also enables the dynamic creation of new services and pricing plans and significantly reduces the time, cost and effort it takes to process billing data and generate invoices. Using MetraNet, BT Conferencing saves tens of thousands of dollars per month in cash flow costs by dramatically compressing the billing cycle for its business customers. In addition, the rating flexibility of MetraNet allows BT Conferencing to automate and streamline its operations as well as reduce the number of manual processes required to implement rate changes and new pricing plans. "MetraTech provides us with a proven billing solution that delivers the reliability, scalability, and performance that lets us deliver the best conferencing and collaboration solutions for our expanding customer base," said Robert F. Moore, CEO of BT Conferencing. "There isn't another solution out there that could handle the complexity of our business. Moreover, MetraTech's billing platform is a strategic weapon; one which played a key role helping us close $12 million in new business last quarter." MetraTech was able to fully implement MetraNet for BT Conferencing in four weeks; and the company plans to roll out MetraTech's Web-based bill presentment and interactive reporting application, MetraView, to its customers in July 2002. MetraView will enable BT Conferencing to offer its customers a Web-based, interactive, brandable online information system. In addition to reducing customer support costs, MetraView makes it easy for customers to charge costs back to divisions, departments and partners by providing granular conferencing details such as participants, roles, connection types, features used, bridge time, transport time, port charges, cancellation fees and reseller participation. "At a time when many service providers are facing significant revenue challenges, BT Conferencing is on a trajectory to quintuple its revenue in the next 18 months," said Scott Swartz, president and CEO of MetraTech. "Both MetraTech and BT Conferencing are focused on delivering high value, high margin differentiated services that are resistant to fluctuating economic conditions. We are pleased that BT Conferencing chose MetraTech as its partner to help scale its business and turn billing into a strategic advantage."
