MetraTech nominated finalist for three 2006 Global
Billing awards London, UK, May 18, 2006 – MetraTech Corp., the leading provider of Web Services-based billing, customer self-care and partner management, has been nominated as a finalist for three prestigious 2006 World Billing Awards. The winners of the awards will be announced at IIR's Billing Systems 2006 conference in London next month. The nominations follow MetraTech's victories in two categories at the World Billing Awards in 2005. While last year many in the market did not anticipate MetraTech's achievement, this year's nominations cement the company's position as the emergent player in the billing market. Two MetraTech deployments are among the finalists in 2006. The innovative implementation billing for prepaid satellite TV at US service provider Dish Networks is nominated for ‘Best Billing, Charging & Partner Management For A Non-Voice Service.' The implementation at Swisscom Mobile, delivered by LogicaCMG in less than six weeks to support the launch of an entirely new MVNO service is nominated for the ‘Best Billing Implementation award.' MetraTech Corp. itself is nominated for the prestigious overall award given to the company that makes the ‘Best Contribution to Billing.' Last year, Hugh Roberts, consultant director of BSS/OSS events at IIR Telecoms and chairman of the Judging Panel observed that the award judges believed that MetraTech's "metadata-driven approach represents a significant development in billing methodology and is highly compatible with the evolving role of billing systems to cover end-to-end financial transaction management." This year's three finalist nominations underline the growing influence of this innovative approach and, furthermore, recognize that MetraTech is among the first companies in the billing market to deliver the benefits of true, Service Oriented Architecture (SOA). Commenting on the nominations, MetraTech ceo Scott Swartz noted: "To gain such recognition – for the second year running – from a panel of our peers and experts in the industry is obviously extremely rewarding. That our approach, and our achievements on behalf of our customers, is being recognised again in this way really does underline a fundamental shift in the architectural approach to billing and partner management platforms."
