For second year running, MetraTech accepts prestigious Global Billing Award at Next Generation Billing event in Munich
London, UK, and Waltham, Mass December 14 2006 – MetraTech Corp., the leading provider of Web Services-based billing, customer self-care and partner management, has been presented with a 2006 World Billing Award at IIR’s Next Generation Billing conference in Munich. This is the second consecutive year the company has garnered one of the industries most coveted prizes.
The award, first announced in June, was presented to MetraTech’s Senior Vice President, Global Sales and Business Development, Vladimir Mitrasinovic and its Chief Technology Officer, Doug Zone, at a gala ceremony.
The 'Best Billing and Partner Management for a Non-Voice Service' prize was given to MetraTech for its implementation of a highly innovative pre-paid satellite TV solution for DISH Networks (NASDAQ: DISH), a market leading pay TV provider with over 12 million subscribers in the United States. The implementation required seamless integration with DISH Network’s existing IVR, service delivery and legacy OSS infrastructure and was completed in record time.
The World Billing Awards were introduced by IIR, the Institute for International Research, to reward billing best practices and help raise awareness of the significance of the billing process. Now in their 10th year, these awards are widely regarded as the highest industry recognition of billing excellence.
Accepting the award for MetraTech, Vladimir Mitrasinovic observed: “this award reflects a specific achievement; a rapid, cost-effective deployment that enabled a service provider to implement a new business model in a way that, without MetraNet, would not have been possible.”
He continued: “the real significance lies in what made this possible. The billing market is reaching an inflection point in which hard wired, third generation billing systems architected around embedded best practice approaches are no longer viable. This award recognizes that the advent of fourth generation billing solutions which dynamically reflect and automate, rather than laboriously translate, the business models of tomorrow have arrived.”
