Solutions for enterprise, telecom, mobile, transportation and SAAS supporting any finanical relationship or business model.

Settlement is a complex area applicable to Telecommunications, Financial Services, Transportation, Media & Entertainment and many other industries.  The increasing diversification in financial relationships, including business-2-business and business-2-consumer; the business models used to support trading, such as residual-cost, revenue share and advertising, imply that the nature of settlement agreements will become ever more complex.  Increasingly, in markets where commodities are traded, the only differentiation can be via business models as how one sells is more important than what one is selling.

MetraNet was designed without limitation in its ability to support different financial relationships and different business models.  The support of settlement, the intricacies of multiple relationships stemming from single or multiple transactions requires no coding, development, pre- or post-processing.  Unlike other legacy systems, our design principles are not built on a data model suited to a particular business model, but allow the configuration of any mode of operation.

MetraNet support for Settlement

Financial settlement – Any number of business models can be implemented to serve any type of financial relationship and any business model.  There is no limitation to the number of business models supported, the depth of the value chain and the number of settlement opportunities within the supply chain.

Settlement models we have been configured range from commission based, using different currencies, usage based, revenue-share, time-based etc.  MetraNet is not limited to using a single model to calculate settlement, but can be configured to use any number of factors to determine settlement, thereby using a combination of event, session and contractual factors to determine settlement.  For example, our settlement functions have been used for a Wi-Fi hotspots provider, where settlement is a combination of where the access card was purchased (by a third-party, the hotspot provider, or the operator), the amount of time spent, and the currency used.

Partner Management -  MetraNet is provided with MetraPartner, a web-based application which allows partners to self-manage and enquire as to the status of their liabilities and credit status.

In terms of settlement we support:

M-Commerce Settlement – Settlement between multiple parties within the mobile value chain including consumers, Mobile Network Operators, Content providers and Content aggregators.

  • MNOs - manage their relationships with their own partners, choosing to determine any business model between any party, including the ability to model complex contract arrangements and providing a web-based partner portal for self-care by partners.
  • Content Aggregators – relationships modeled between the aggregators and multiple MNOs, and between themselves and content providers, including both settling and charging for services, such as statements, accounting etc
  • Content Providers – Modelling agreements and contracts, and reconciling usage data and invoices to ensure accurate and on-time payments
